World Population Day

July 11th is a day focused on population issues. This day was originally established by the United Nations after the interest people had in Five Billion Day in 1987. Five Billion Day was meant to acknowledge the date that the world's population reached an estimated 5,000,000,000!! As the world's population has increased since then, this day is dedicated to highlighting the issues that come with a growing population.
