About the event
Prepare and equip yourself to go into survival mode on Get Ready Day. Established in 2006 by the American Public Health Association (APHA) to coincide with National Preparedness Month, Get Ready Day ensures that individuals, families, and communities are provided with the knowledge to help them cope with crises such as natural disasters, infectious diseases, and pandemic illnesses. Held on the third Tuesday in September, this day sheds light on being equipped with the right tools, having ample stock of food and water, and just overall preparedness for the worst-case scenario during emergencies. You could save a life, maybe even your own!
The APHA also has a dedicated website providing checklists and other information. You can check out this website here.
